Essien gets his favourite jersey number at new club
Michael Essien will wear his iconic No.5 jersey at his new club Persib Bandung in the Indonesian Ligue 1.
The 34-year-old signed for one season with the option of extending it by one more year if he impresses.
Persib Bandung announced the deal on Monday which will make the former Chelsea, Real Madrid and AC Milan star the highest paid player in the Ligue 1.
Essien is reported to be on a 800,000 Euros a year salary.
